A lot of support efforts to SMEs in Sweden are now, in line with entrepreneurship policy on different levels, targeting groups that were marginalized by previous support efforts, as the general efforts have been found to address, mainly, those fitting the image of the entrepreneurial norm: i.e. the middle-aged white man (c.f. Ogbor, 2000). One group explicitly targeted by support efforts is people with migrant background. In this ongoing project we discuss differences in approaches targeting this group, highlighting differences in target groups as well as how these groups are distinguished, or categorized, as well as differences in the consequences of different approaches of such categorizations.
