Strategies and Structures – A multi-disciplinary study of the preconditions for entrepreneurship among immigrants in Sweden

The purpose of this research is to analyse the preconditions for self-employment and the strategies of self-employed persons of immigrant backgrounds in Sweden. The project analyses how changes in policies and regulations affect conditions and opportunities for small business development in different industries over time, and how entrepreneurs act in response to change in opportunity structures. We intend to study transitions of entrepreneurs’ business activity across industries and types of markets, but also strategies of growth and survival within industries and markets.
